Fitness enthusiast and reviewer from San Diego

The Short Version

I am Noah Miller, based in San Diego, and for several years I've chronicled my experiences at gyms around United States.

This site came about after growing tired of selecting gyms from ads and vague tips, only to find the actual experience didn’t match expectations. I sought concrete, candid details about what these places were truly like, and since I couldn't find them, I chose to build them.

How This Started

My fitness routine started at a small club near 123 Fitness Ave, Downtown in San Diego. It wasn’t perfect, but it was accessible, affordable, and it helped me stay consistent.

After that place closed, I saw how fast the fitness scene in United States was changing. New clubs opened, new concepts emerged, and marketing grew louder than the actual member experience.

I began trying various gyms and classes, jotting notes after each visit. Over time those notes became this site, created to help others make better-informed choices.

My Approach to Reviews

Each review here reflects actual visits and time spent inside the facility. I focus on practical details that matter when selecting a membership.

When I review a fitness center, I typically:

  • Spend sufficient time to understand routines, peak times, and patterns
  • Visit on different days and at different times
  • Try more than one training format and instructor
  • Use amenities regularly to judge cleanliness and comfort
  • Talk to other members about what is consistent and what is not
  • Write notes immediately after each visit

I update reviews when major changes occur: renovations, management shifts, price changes, or new facilities. Each article displays its last update date so you can gauge how current the information is.

What I Look For

My priorities may differ from yours, but here is what matters most to me when evaluating a gym:

Comfort and privacy: Does the space feel genuinely well-designed for members, with respectful boundaries and a calm atmosphere?

Equipment quality: Are machines well-maintained? Is there enough variety? Do things get fixed promptly?

Crowd management: Can you actually train during your preferred time without waiting constantly?

Clean facilities: Locker rooms, showers, floors, and equipment surfaces. Cleanliness shows how seriously management treats the member experience.

Honest membership practices: Clear pricing, clear rules, and no unpleasant surprises.

Beyond the Gym

Outside of training and writing, I live and work in San Diego. This project aims to make fitness choices easier and more transparent for those seeking the right environment.
